Raisin Hope In Philadelphia 2010

The Second Annual Raisin Hope in Philadelphia bike ride is coming up, in only 6 months! It’s about time that I started to plan and organize this coming year’s charity bike ride.

Did you make it to last year’s ride, along with the 30 other riders? If you’re one of this select few, I hope you would like to come back for your second taste of some awesome riding and great charity support! But if you didn’t, you better make it out to the one coming up!

The Raisin Hope in Philadelphia charity ride, held each year, has been set up to aid the Raisin Hope Foundation in its initiative to help make traumatic brain injury (TBI) a less-devastating experience for all those involved. This involves helping survivors and their families, educating the public about traumatic brain injury, and creating a way for survivors to connect with each other to help with their long-term recovery.

If you’re a longtime reader of this site, you may have watched as I progressed and recovered to the point that I am at now- traumatic brain injury recovery takes a lifetime. I’m still learning new things about how my brain works and has changed due to my injury!  By helping the Raisin Hope Foundation, you can help raise hope for survivors of traumatic brain injury who need an extra hand in becoming a proud TBI-survivor who is willing to take the world head-on, again. No pun intended?

I have looked at my calendar, and the ride will take place the weekend of June 5th. Mark it on your calendar, now! I’d like some input as to which day that weekend would be better, Saturday or Sunday? I’m a proponent of Sunday charity rides, are you?

If you attended last year’s ride, please let me know what you liked/disliked/would like to have changed for the coming year’s edition in a comment on this post.  I appreciate it!

If you’d like to help out with this year’s ride by volunteering, sponsoring, or planning, send me a message.

Talk to you soon,

Doug

UPDATE: I’ll have to reschedule the ride for another weekend, considering the Philadelphia Pro Cycling Championship is happening that weekend.
